Preliminary Audit-WTA
Building energy audit means a documented procedure carried out in order to determine the energy
performance of the building and the degree of compliance of that performance with the requirements set
by special regulations. A walk-through audit (WTA) is a study based upon the customer to discover the
areas which need improvement. The preliminary audit is the most basic type of energy audit. The
preliminary audit involves conducting interviews with a few key employees, a quick review of utility
bills and a quick inspection of facilities in order to identify obvious energy savings opportunities.
Investment Grade Audit-IGA
Building energy audit means a documented procedure carried out in order to determine the energy
performance of the building and the degree of compliance of that performance with the requirements set
by special regulations. An investment grade audit is the most detailed energy audit. It analyzes the
financial aspects of energy savings and the return on investment from potential changes or upgrades.
This audit finalizes the modeling performed during a general audit and combines the information gathered
with monetary figures.
